Mobile App & Push Notifications

Updated 05 Apr 2026

FX Monitor works as a Progressive Web App (PWA) — meaning it can be installed on your phone or tablet directly from the browser, without going through an App Store. Once installed, it behaves like a native app: it appears on your home screen, opens full-screen, and can deliver real-time push notifications about your trading activity even when the app is not open.

Installing FX Monitor as a Mobile App

iPhone / iPad (Safari)

  1. Open fx-monitor.com in Safari
  2. Tap the Share button (rectangle with arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
  4. Confirm the name and tap Add

The FX Monitor icon will appear on your home screen. Open it from there to use the full-screen app experience.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open fx-monitor.com in Chrome
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen or Install App
  4. Confirm by tapping Install

Desktop (Chrome / Edge)

  1. Open fx-monitor.com
  2. Click the install icon (⊕) that appears in the address bar on the right side
  3. Click Install in the confirmation dialog

Enabling Push Notifications

Navigate to Push Notifications in the sidebar. The page shows the subscription status for the current device.

Click Enable to activate push notifications on this device. Your browser will ask for permission — click Allow. Once active, the device status changes to Active on this device with a green indicator.

Use Send test to verify that notifications are working correctly on the current device. Use Disable to unsubscribe the current device at any time.

Each browser and device subscribes independently — you can have notifications active on your phone, tablet, and desktop simultaneously. The total number of active devices is shown below the controls.

Default Alert Rules

After enabling notifications, configure which events trigger alerts. The Default Alert Rules section applies to all connected accounts unless overridden by account-specific rules.

Configure each rule and click Save rules to apply.

No Update Alert

Sends an alert if an account has not synced data for longer than the specified number of hours. Set the Hours Without Update threshold. Enable Skip weekends to suppress this alert on Saturday and Sunday — useful for strategies that do not trade over the weekend.

Drawdown Alert

Sends an alert when the current floating drawdown on an account exceeds the defined threshold. The drawdown is calculated as (Balance − Equity) / Balance × 100%. Set the Drawdown Threshold (%) to the level at which you want to be notified.

Trade Opened

Sends an alert whenever a new position is opened on any monitored account. Toggle on or off.

Trade Closed

Sends an alert when a trade is closed. Three sub-settings are available:

  • Direction — filter by All trades, Buy only, or Sell only
  • Min |P&L| ($) — only send the alert if the absolute P&L of the closed trade meets a minimum threshold. Leave blank for any amount.
  • Symbols Filter — comma-separated list of symbols to monitor. Leave empty to receive alerts for all symbols. Example: EURUSD, XAUUSD, GOLDm#

Account-Specific Rules

Below the default rules, the Account-Specific Rules section allows you to override the default settings for individual accounts. This is useful when different accounts require different alert thresholds — for example, a low-drawdown funded account may need a tighter drawdown alert than a standard account.

Select the account from the dropdown, configure each rule independently using the same options as the default rules, and click Save rules. Account-specific rules take priority over the defaults for that account. Rules that are toggled off at the account level will not fire for that account even if they are enabled in the default rules.
