Telegram Notifiactions

FX Monitor has a dedicated Telegram bot — @FXMonitorBot — that sends instant alerts about your trading accounts directly to your Telegram. No third-party services required: the bot connects to your FX Monitor account in seconds via a one-time code.

Navigate to Telegram Alerts in the sidebar to set up the bot.

Connecting the Bot

1. Click → Connect Telegram on the Telegram Alerts page. A unique connect code will be generated and displayed — for example, 29C890. The code is time-limited and expires within a few minutes. If it expires, click Regenerate code to get a new one.
2. Open Telegram and find @FXMonitorBot, or click Open @FXMonitorBot to go there directly.
3. Send the command /connect 29C890 (with your actual code) to the bot. You can copy the full command from the page with one click.
4. The bot will confirm the connection. The page status will switch to a green indicator showing your Telegram username and the connection date.

To unlink the bot at any time, click Disconnect.

Notification Preferences

Once connected, two notification categories can be toggled independently:

Trading alerts — no-update and drawdown notifications based on your alert rules. This is the primary alert channel for account monitoring events.

Marketing & announcements — product updates and news from FX Monitor.

Click Save preferences to apply.

Default Alert Rules

After connecting the bot, configure which events trigger Telegram messages. The Default Alert Rules apply to all connected accounts unless overridden by account-specific rules.

Configure each rule and click Save rules to apply.

No Update Alert — sends an alert if an account has not synced for longer than the specified number of hours. Set the Hours Without Update threshold. Enable Skip weekends to suppress this alert on Saturday and Sunday.

Drawdown Alert — sends an alert when the floating drawdown on an account exceeds the defined threshold. Calculated as (Balance − Equity) / Balance × 100%. Set the Drawdown Threshold (%).

Trade Opened — sends a Telegram message whenever a new position is opened on any monitored account.

Trade Closed — sends a Telegram message for each closed trade matching your filters:

• Direction — All trades, Buy only, or Sell only
• Min |P&L| ($) — minimum absolute P&L to trigger the alert. Leave blank for any amount.
• Symbols Filter — comma-separated list of symbols to watch. Leave empty to receive alerts for all symbols. Example: EURUSD, XAUUSD, GOLDm#

Account-Specific Rules

The Account-Specific Rules section allows you to override the default settings for individual accounts. Select an account from the dropdown and configure each rule independently. For example, you can set a tighter drawdown threshold for a funded account while keeping a looser threshold for a standard one, or disable trade notifications entirely for a high-frequency account to avoid message overload.

Account-specific rules take priority over the default rules for that account. Click Save rules after configuring each account.
