FX Monitor is a web-based platform for monitoring and analyzing trading activity in financial markets. Built for traders using MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 terminals, it brings together everything you need to understand your trading performance: open positions, trade history, statistics, backtest results, and more — all in one place, accessible from any device.

The platform is designed for both manual traders and those using automated trading systems (Expert Advisors).

How It Works

Data is transmitted from your trading terminal to the platform using a dedicated Expert Advisor (EA) — a program installed in MetaTrader that runs in the background. The EA performs no trading operations whatsoever: it only reads account data and sends it to the FX Monitor server over an encrypted connection.

Getting started is straightforward:

  1. Register at fx-monitor.com — using your email or Google account.
  2. Add a trading account in your dashboard and receive a personal API key.
  3. Install the EA in MetaTrader and enter your API key in the EA settings.

Once configured, data will flow to the platform automatically. Both MT4 and MT5 accounts are supported, including real and demo accounts.

Core Features

Account Monitoring

The platform displays your account in real time: balance, equity, margin, open positions, and pending orders. Each trade includes detailed information — symbol, volume, open time, and current result in both pips and account currency.

Trade history is presented as a sortable, filterable table. Each trade can also be viewed directly on a price chart, with entry and exit points clearly marked.

Analytics & Statistics

FX Monitor automatically calculates key trading metrics for each account: profitability, maximum drawdown, profit factor, win rate, average trade result, MAE/MFE, and more. Statistics are available both for the account as a whole and broken down by trading symbol.

The equity curve is built from your actual trade history and reflects the real growth of your deposit. A custom starting balance can be set manually in the analysis settings.

Backtest Analysis

FX Monitor supports uploading HTML backtest reports exported from MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. Once uploaded, the report is automatically parsed and presented in the same format as a live account: trade table, equity curve, and full statistics.

This makes it easy to compare backtest results with live trading performance in a unified interface. Backtest results can also be shared via a public link.

EA Groups — Trading System Analysis

EA Groups is a tool for traders running multiple strategies or Expert Advisors across one or more accounts. Every trade in MetaTrader carries a Magic Number — a unique identifier assigned by the EA that placed it.

With EA Groups, you can combine Magic Numbers from different accounts into a named group and get isolated statistics for that specific trading system — regardless of which account it runs on. This is especially useful when running the same strategy across multiple accounts or testing several systems in parallel.

Portfolio & Monte Carlo

FX Monitor lets you combine multiple trading accounts into a portfolio and analyze their combined performance. A correlation matrix across accounts is available alongside aggregated portfolio-level statistics.

Monte Carlo simulation runs against the trade history of an account or portfolio and helps assess the robustness of a trading system: what is the probability of a given drawdown level, how might the equity curve look under different trade sequence orderings, and what range of outcomes can be expected going forward.

AI Agent

The AI Agent is a built-in analytical assistant powered by artificial intelligence. It has full context of your account or portfolio and can answer questions about your trading in plain language — identifying weaknesses in your strategy, assessing risks, and drawing conclusions based on your real statistics.

The AI Agent can work in account mode, portfolio mode, or scoped to a specific EA Group.

Notifications

FX Monitor delivers notifications via Telegram and browser Push notifications, including on mobile devices. Alerts are sent when trades are opened or closed, pending orders are triggered, and other significant account events occur.

The Telegram bot connects in seconds. Push notifications require no app installation — the platform functions as a PWA (Progressive Web App) and can be added to your home screen on any device.

Public Dashboards

Any account or backtest can be made public — the platform generates a unique link that anyone can use to view the trading statistics and results. The public dashboard contains the same analytics as the private dashboard, but without the ability to make any changes.

This is ideal for presenting results to investors or followers, or for publishing on external resources.

Supported Platforms

  • MetaTrader 4 (MT4)
  • MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
  • Real and demo accounts

FX Monitor runs in the browser on both desktop and mobile — no app installation required.
